Is learning English easy? We may be wondering if that could be true. Why not? Yes, English learning can be easy if we can find the way to do so. For so long, learning English has been seen as something not fun, serious or even boring. That concept is possibly caused by the moment when we learned at school. Most people learn English when they are at school. As we know, the school has its own target for every subject taught and that is possibly what makes the teachers not really have time to give more activities in the class. However, it goes back to us as the students, we are the ones who should find more interesting ways to improve our English skills. There are many interesting ways for us to learn English especially in this advanced technology era. There seems to be no limit for us to look for sources to support our English learning. We can keep on practicing our English skills whenever it is possible.
Learning English could be hard if we just think that English is only about grammar or structure. Then, when we know there are sixteen tenses in English that need to be learnt, we become more stressed and really think that English is hard. We also think that if we do not have a good grammar or structure that our English is not good. People will not understand what we mean. Then, we will gradually become discouraged from learning English again. In fact, English is not only about grammar or structure, but there are also many other aspects, such as vocabulary, reading, listening, speaking, writing and much more. If English is only about grammar or structure, then it would be an imbalance. We cannot learn just one skill and ignore the others because they are related to each other. Therefore, it is important to set our minds right about learning English. Once we have a good understanding about learning English, we are able to improve our English skills further.

First of all, we need to set our goals of learning English. Not only for learning English but everything in our life must have a goal so we can focus better. By knowing the goals, we can also set up the plans or strategies to achieve our goals. We will be encouraged to work harder to make our goals come true. Here are some goals for people who learn English. Some people want to learn English because they think it could make their lives better. They hope that being able to speak English will give them more opportunities to study abroad or to get a job in a big company. Hence, they will find ways to make their dreams come true. By setting goals, we can also set up our minds to be more focused on learning itself. We will not easily give up and will always do our best to achieve our goals.
Find people with the same interest
Second, find people with the same interest. To have people who have the same interests as we do will be a nice thing because we can support each other. This is also the same as having a community. If we have a good support system in learning English, it will be so beneficial to us. Since our society is not really that supportive to the person who is able to speak foreign languages, we have to prepare ourselves not to be discouraged by it. Having a community will possibly help us to survive in that kind of society. When someone takes us as a joke when we learn English, we will not feel down because we know that we have the community that is ready to support us. Moreover, it will be great if we could have our family members or friends in our community. They wholeheartedly support us during the learning process. If we practice a lot with our community, our English skills will steadily improve and it means we are one step closer to achieve our goals.
Learn it your style
Third, learn with your style. Although English is mostly learned since the school time, it does not mean that we cannot adjust the way of learning English to our styles. In order to make the learning process enjoyable, we need to find some ways to make it fun. When we want to make the learning fun in our own style, we have to know first, what kind of learner are we? Do we learn better when we listen or watch? Are we more to the audio or visual? If we can analyse our learning style, our learning will be more precise. We save a lot of time by learning with our styles. If we are the type of person who learns better when listening, we can try to find some audios or podcasts to help us to learn English better. If we are the type of person who learns better when watching, we can find some videos or streaming some channels to support our English online learning. When we enjoy the learning process, our English skill will eventually improve. We will not feel stressed out by being forced to adapt other learning styles.
In short, is learning English easy? Yes, it is. We could start from setting up our own goals of learning English, finding some people or a community who share the same interest in learning English, and learning English with our own style. When we successfully do those things, we will improve our English skills. We do not need to be confused about where to start if we want to learn English because everything can be started from ourselves. We are the only person who is responsible for our success and failure.
